The Discipline was born at the establishment of the Faculty of Midwifes and Nursing.

The medical activity is performed by the Assistant Lecturer. Dr. Liliana Bordea at the Gorgos Psychiatry Hospital and by Associate Proffesor Dr. Ioan Bradu Iamandescu in Allergology (private clinic). It performs activities of Clinical Psychology and psychotherapy by Senior Lecturer, specialist clinical psychologist, psychotherapist Ioana Cioca (private practice).

The activities of education / teaching takes place in all FMN specialties (midwifes, nurses, Balneofiziokinetotherapy) in all years of study, as follows: Senior Lecturer psychologist dr. Communication skills Course ( General nurse and Midwifes II year)

Course themes

1.Social perception - interpersonal communication premise. The perception of "objects" / phenomena and social influences. Stereotypes / patterns of social perception
2.Social attitudes. Cognitive, affective and behavioral components. Functions (adaptation, knowledge, defense values, preferences, prejudices)
3.Communication concept. Definition, content, form and style of communication. The rules of good communication.
4.Metacommunication. The five axioms of metacommunication (Watzlawik).
5.Criteria for evaluating the quality of communication. Informational content and styleand style, communication skill, communicators position. (Binomial I-Thou).
6.Disorders / faulty communication. Examples from medical  practice.
7.Communication - factor for health and longevity.
8.The importance of communication in the relationship with the patient medical staff. Patient-centered medicine and medicine-centered relationship.
9.Medical communication functions. Supporting the ability for self-management of the patient.
10.Types of behaviors of nurse / midwife / physiotherapist healthcare-specific communication issues
11.Patient-centered medical communication. Optimisations.
12.Developing therapeutic relationship with the patient on the basis of good communication. Recognition / identification of patient emotions, its managing uncertainty, his participation in treatment decision.
13.The problem of the truth about the disease. Attitudes appropriate (required and circumstantial). Ways of communicating bad news.
14.Drossman principles relating to effective and efficient medical communication. Illustrative dialogues.

  11. Excessive anxiety during pregnancy - common causes.

Practical work themes

The practical work consists in presenting the various stages of the course to  the student, referring to topics of medical interest (possibly presenting a disease known) following problems treated in the course.
For example, 'Present the introduction of hypertension course' or Present the conclusion of the course about asthma.
It is envisaged that each of these fragments of the course be able to attract the interest of students with a presentation often with literary virtues and through a synthesis of the importance of subject.
Students will be examined and corrected, in turn, to achieve a practical evaluation of each of them.
