UMPCD was included for the first time in the THE World University Rankings for 2024, a ranking published on September 27, 2023. In this edition of the global ranking, UMPCD was placed in the 801-1000 range, the highest ranking among Romanian universities.

On October 26, 2023, THE's subject rankings were published, where UMPCD was also included for the first time, ranking between 601-800 in the “Clinical and Health” category, the highest ranking nationally among specialized universities.

For 2023, UMPCD saw a significant increase in its presence in subject rankings. In the Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), the university maintained its global position of 101-150 (out of 500 ranked universities) for “Clinical Medicine.” Additionally, in 2023, UMPCD achieved rankings in two more categories, reaching positions 151-200 (out of 500) for “Public Health” and 151-200 (out of 400) for “Medical Technology,” making it the only university in Romania included in these rankings.
