The Surgery Clinic of Dr. Carol Davila Teachinh Hospital of Nephrology was reestablished on 1st of October 2011, after 30 years of inactivty.

Completely renovated in 2011, assuring hospitalization conditions of European standards, last generation medical equipment, a team of surgeons educated at Prof. Dr. Florian Popa School, skilled in the emergencies from Bucharest, the clinic is on its way to get back the position occupied 30 years ago, when some of the greatest Romanian surgeons, also appreciated abroad, worked here: Prof Fagaraseanu, Prof. Gavriliu, the clinic being thus considered a real temple of the Romanian surgery.

The Surgery clinic will address to the entire General Surgery, Thoracic and Vascular associated pathology, especially to colorectal surgery and minimally invasive surgery.

We will cover the entire palette of surgical interventions associated to nephrology, having a very good colaboration with the Hospital’s Nephrology clinic: Endocrine surgery (parathyroid, adrenal glands), hemodialysis associated vascular surgery and also the assemblage of peritoneal dialysis catheters.

  • Thyroid gland surgery: partial and total thyroidectomies for benign affections (dystrophies, hyperthyroidism, thyroidites) or malign (thyroid cancer)
  • Parathyroid glands surgery: total and subtotal parathyroidectomies
  • Mammary gland surgery: sectorectomies, tumorectomies, mastectomies (simple, Halsted, Pattey, Madden)
  • Thoracic Surgery
  • Parietal abdominal deffects surgery, including prosthesis for consolidation or for substitution: hernias, eventrations, eviscerations
  • Esophagogastric jonction surgery: cardia achalasia, hiatus hernia
  • Stomach surgery: partial or total gastric resections for ulcer (gastric, duodenal) or cancer, gastrostomies, gastrojejunal derivations
  • Spleen surgery: partial or total spelenctomies for traumatic lessions, essential and parasitical cysts, tumors, hematologic diseases
  • Hepatobiliary surgery: hepatic hydatid cyst, intrahepatic abcesses, interventions on extrahepatic bile ducts (choledoscpy, intraoperatory cholangiography), reconstructive procedures, biliodigestive derivations
  • Pancreatic surgery: acute diffuse necrotizing pancreatitis, pancreatic pseudocysts, partial or total pancreatectomies for pancreatic cancer or chronic pancreatitis, pancreatico digestive derivations
  • Small intestine surgery: segmentary or large enterectomies, jejunostomies, entero-enteral derivations
  • Colon and rectum surgery: appendectomies, segmentary colectomies, hemicolectomies, total proctocolectomies, rectum amputations, colostomies for benign and malign affections
