Surgery Clinic of the Clinical Emergency Hospital shares the history of the beginning of Emergency Clinical Hospital (established in 1933-1934 and founded by Prof. Nicolae Minovici - Fig. 1).
Clinical activity is conducted in three surgical wards. Each year we perform an average of 7,000 surgeries. The types of interventions practiced include emergency surgery and traumatology, general surgery, minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic, robotic). From the point of view of surgical pathology addressed it is extremely varied (parietal surgery, surgical oncology, esophageal surgery, endocrine surgery, hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery, colorectal surgery).
The teaching activity is addressed to students and residents and postgraduate training on specific topics clinic. The discipline performs teaching activities for students with training in English since the beginning of introducing the English module in the university.
Surgery courses are made according to specific programs for 4th and 5th years. The base is represented by theoretical (surgery textbook) and by the practical work carried out by staff of the Department 10. Surgery discipline exam consists of:
- Practical examination
- Written exam
